Construction/Hobby Projects.

On this page I would like to show you that I am also regularly involved in construction work. As a hobby, I enjoy giving materials (that I often encounter during demolition) a second life.

Build a terrace + path.

In this quite overgrown city garden, I was asked to build a terrace and a walkway to the rear entrance.

Replaced window/frame shed.

Replaced the window frames and windows of an old shed and cemented the sill.

I still had the frame wood, so I used the windows that were already there (I had the right size right away ;-) ). So all I had to purchase was a bag of cement, wood filler, hardwood lath and a pot of paint. For me, this falls under the Hobby/Volunteer work category.

Install a fence.

This needs no further explanation: Just install a fence.

Expand foundation.

After I first demolished the shed, I made the foundation suitable for the new greenhouse to be installed.

Installing walls and ceilings.

The entire building has walls and ceilings.

Outdoor rabbit hutch.

This again falls into the hobby category. Outdoor accommodation for a bunch of Flemish giants made from scrap wood.

Install a fence.

Install a fence around a garden.

Make a wardrobe.

After clearing out an office building, I had 10 desk tops. That's what this cupboard is made of.

Insulate the attic.

Old attic with underlayment plates,

insulation material, vapor barrier foil and then finish with plasterboard.

Replace shed door.

I bought some second hand hardwood floorboards and made this door.

laying paving.

Laying a section of paving to create extra parking space. (because this is a temporary solution, I dared to do it!)

Assembling cabinets and hanging TV + shelves

Creating borders.

Create new borders from the existing tiles.

Renovating the garden.

Remove paving, install a fence and lay gravel. (no back entrance so all material went through the house :-)).

Solid table top. (hobby project)

After I had to remove a heavy conference table (the steel base alone weighed 240 kg) from an office. These pieces of wood remained.

I made some bookshelves and a workbench out of it.

Insulate the floor.

Insulate the wooden floor in the crawl space.

Laying a flower box.

Gradually building up a flower box.

Inspect paving.

Cut paving to make more space for plants.

Reuse floor.

Remove hardwood floor and then re-lay it. Immediately I also laid a herringbone motif, because why make it easy when you can make it difficult! :-) (It really took a long time)

Replace fence.

Remove old concrete fence and then replace one made of wood.

Preparations for pouring foam concrete.

After first removing the floor and leveling the crawl space. Foil is placed there.
